Silicone, Neoprene, Ultrasuede and Sunbrella are at the top of my list for useful boat materials. The silicone pot holders are used for far more than holding hot pots, they keep cups and flotsom from sliding in the microwave, on the counter, on the cockpit floor, etc. while we're rocking or in motion.

Pros: They are easy to clean and indestructible with no outgassing smell. At (2) for $12 they are worth it.
